JASPER

Composition

A type of microcrystalline quartz. Consists primarily of silicon dioxide with mineral impurities that form its color and natural patterns.

Color

Red, mottled, brown, yellow, green, beige, with layering and natural patterns. The color of jasper is due to impurities of iron, manganese, and other elements, and its characteristic patterns emerge from complex geological processes and the stratified structure of the stone.

Hardness

6.5-7 on the Mohs scale.

Russia, India, Brazil, USA, South Africa, Madagascar.

Legends and Symbolism

Jasper has been considered a stone of earth and life power since ancient times. It was used as a talisman on journeys and during trials, believed to help maintain resilience and inner balance.

Red Jasper was associated with the strength of blood, endurance, and resilience in the face of adversity.
